Calpe and its beaches: icons of the Costa Blanca Calpe has always been one of the major tourist destinations in the Mediterranean, proof of this is that over the years thirty 1960′s writers such as Hemingway, among other celebrities who have passed through this town on the Costa Blanca throughout the years. Calpe is a town famous for its beaches, such as the Bol, close to which we can find the Roman Baños de la Reina site, which includes marine pools carved in stone. On a headland to the East is the Peñón de Ifach, a huge formation of limestone with a large variety of birds. At his feet are the ruins of la Pobla de Ifac, a walled medieval city.
